Salmon is one of those wonder foods. It prevents heart attacks, betters your cholesterol, lowers triglycerides levels, controls your blood pressure, prevents strokes, helps fight diabetes, fends off cancer, improves your eyesight, and protects you from sunburn. Wow, what's not to like? Well apparently a lot; despite all these health benefits, some people still refuse to eat salmon. I think the number one complaint-and it's not so much a salmon complaint, as it is a fish complaint- is that it tastes, well, fishy. The ironic thing is that, when prepared well, fish doesn't taste fishy at all.
For instance tonight, after missing out on our usual Sunday diner, I decided to make one of my all time favorite recipes. This is basically pan seared salmon, with a salsa. Although, this isn't just an ordinary salsa. This salsa comes straight from heaven, take a look a the ingredients:
You put that stuff on top of anything, let alone salmon, it's going to taste good. So there is really no excuse not to eat salmon. If it think it tastes fishy, cover it with things that don't taste fishy. People do more for much less health benefits all time.
